YOUR NEUTRAL APOSTROPHES SICKEN ME

OK, I’m sick of being made to feel like a fop, a pansy, or simply a girl because I want typography to improve. I’m especially sick of getting that bullshit when the issue is the typography of public space, like the subway. (I’m also tired of the Spacers and their Weblog commenters, who are consistently wrong about signage.) I’m sick of this city’s refusal to take typography seriously.

I hereby call for a Toronto Typographic Charter. And you’ll be reading more about it under this category (also photos) in the next two weeks.

The foregoing posting appeared on Joe Clark’s personal Weblog on 2006.11.13 18:14. This presentation was designed for printing and omits components that make sense only onscreen. (If you are seeing this on a screen, then the page stylesheet was not loaded or not loaded properly.) The permanent link is:

I really like my pictures; my homosexualist-lock-screens project is what I am most proud of in living memory; this personal Weblog is an absolute cultural treasure.

And, last but not least, I don’t like you, either.
