The semantic error on your personal Weblog that presents the name of the Weblog as the HTML TITLE of every posting does two things:

  • It deters people from reading your postings, as they all have the same epithet as TITLE. (That’s an assumption.)

  • It prevents people from forwarding or retwitting your postings in certain contexts, for the same reason. (That’s a known fact, as someone has already complained about it to me.)

Change your template immediately, please, to place the title of each posting first in the TITLE element. I would not use the name of your Weblog anywhere in TITLE given the importance of that element.

The foregoing posting appeared on Joe Clark’s personal Weblog on 2011.06.17 15:12. This presentation was designed for printing and omits components that make sense only onscreen.
